The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe ((ラテン語:Archidioecesis Lilongvensis)) is the Roman Catholic archdiocese located in Lilongwe in Malawi. Before its elevation to an Archdiocese in 2011, it had belonged to the Ecclesiastical Province of the Archdiocese of Blantyre. On Wednesday, July 3, 2013, Pope Francis accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe, under Canon 401.1 of the Latin-rite Code of Canon Law, presented by Archbishop Rémi Joseph Gustave Sainte-Marie, M. Afr., who had served as Archbishop since its elevation on February 9, 2011, and before that as its Bishop since succeeding Bishop Felix Eugenio Mkhori on July 4, 2007.
